Sightseeing on the Dinner Cruise:
Your cruise departs from The Waterside in Downtown Norfolk. Your excursion covers the Elizabeth River waterfront with spectacular views of the city's downtown and the mighty ships of the Navy's Atlantic Fleet. No trip to Norfolk is complete without a view from the deck of this festive ship. And while you're enjoying all the highlights, you can dine, dance and have a great time, too.
1. Waterside A festival marketplace featuring unique shops, live entertainment, indoor restaurants and outdoors cafes.
2. Nauticus The National Maritime Center lets visitors experience maritime wonders with hands-on exhibits, movies, ship simulations and more.
3. Portsmouth Naval Hospital America's oldest naval hospital; Robert E. Lee was briefly held prisoner under its porch after the Civil War.
4. Old Fort Norfolk Built under orders of George Washington in 1794, the fort was used during the war of 1812 to help defend the city against the British; it is now home of the Army Corp of Engineers.
5. Norfolk Southern Coal Terminal Home of the world's largest Coal Pier, this terminal can load up to 8,000 tons of coal per hour.
6. Portsmouth Marine Terminal Cargo Company that features giant Passaco cranes and over 100 acres of berthing facilities.
7. Norfolk Naval Base Established in 1917, it is the world's largest naval base and home port for the Atlantic Fleet with over 125 ships including aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines.
The only thing more irresistible than the view is the menu, which offers a satisfying array of choices and flavors. A host will invite you to a buffet of popular favorites featuring several entrees, vegetables, salads and accompaniments. You'll finish off with your choice of dessert. Cocktail service is available throughout the cruise at your table or from one of the bars. Beverage cost and beverage service gratuity are NOT included in the price of the cruise.

Are there any age requirements? -- Anyone may sail on our lunch and dinner cruises, but there is no child price discount for this cruise. Children under 3 years old are complimentary.
What type of entertainment is offered? -- At night, this cruise comes alive with entertainment. From line dances to Top-40 hits, the DJs know how to get everyone up and dancing and create the perfect vibe.
What is your smoking policy? -- All interior areas of the ship are non-smoking areas. Passengers who enjoy smoking may do so on the outdoor observation decks.
Will my cell phone work on the cruise? -- Yes, your cell phone will work on the cruise. For the comfort of other guests, please hold all cell phone conversations on the outside decks.
Do I need a reservation? -- Yes.
How far in advance should I make reservations? -- If you're planning for a large group, call us as soon as possible. A few months will make it easier to accommodate all of your preferences. Individuals should try to book within 30 days of their planned cruise. Of course, reservations can be made up to 72 hours before the cruise, provided there is space available. We recommend ordering as early as you can, especially for special event cruises such as July 4th weekend and New Year's Eve.
Which credit cards are accepted? -- We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
Can I make reservations by phone and pay at the ship? -- No. For individual parties, payment is required in full at the time of the reservation.
What should I wear? -- For men, appropriate attire includes slacks and a polo or button down shirt. For women, nice slacks, Capri pants or a sundress is recommended. Collarless T-shirts, jeans, shorts or sneakers are strongly discouraged. Shirts and shoes are always required. No bathing suits.
Is parking available at the ship? -- Yes.
Do you sail in inclement weather? -- The ship is fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort and cruises rain or shine. If for any reason the ship does not sail, the event will be held dockside.
How early should I arrive for my cruise? -- You may pick up your tickets one hour before the cruise time. Boarding the vessel occurs 30 minutes prior to the scheduled cruise departure.
Will I get seasick? -- It's unlikely. The ship is one of the largest and most stable cruise ships on the waterfront. On rare occasions when the water is very rough, the Captain will sail the vessel within the breakwater area.
What kind of food is served? -- All-you-can-eat buffets with delicious choices prepared on board daily by executive chefs and their galley staffs. Selections include beef, poultry and seafood with fresh vegetables, salad, rolls with butter, and dessert. With advance notice, requests for kosher meals can be accommodated, as can special meals for guests with allergies.
What do drinks cost? -- As of this writing - and subject to change - mixed drinks start at $6.75 for standard brand liquors, $7.75 for premium drinks. All beer is sold by the bottle, with domestic beers for $5.50 and imported for $5.75. Wine begins at $8.00 per glass. Soft drinks are $3.00 each and juice is available for $3.00 each. These prices do not include tax and gratuity.
How is seating arranged on board? -- This cruise features cabaret-style seating. The majority of tables accommodate four to eight people and guests are sometimes seated with other parties. Sorry, but the Spirit does not accept seating requests.
